Steve Sutherland presents Theme Time Radio

Theme Time Radio is a show that explores a treasure trove of tracks that have one single, magical thing in common: the songs, no matter how diverse, all celebrate the same thing.

It could be Winter, Pets, Children, Halloween, the Weather, Trees…. whatever the subject, Radio Theme Time will draw on work from a limitless range of artists and every chosen song will have a fascinating story to tell. These tales will be narrated by Steve Sutherland who is currently Director Of Special Projects at IPC Media, the UK’s biggest magazine publisher. Steve worked on the weekly music paper Melody Maker during the 1980s and edited NME throughout the 90s, the heyday of Britpop. He founded NME.COM, Europe’s most successful music news website and reanimated the NME Awards, one of the most famous annual events in the music calendar.

Steve currently contributes to NME and Uncut as well as overseeing the editorial health of all of IPC brands including The Field, Country Life, Nuts and Marie Clair. Steve has written extensively about popular music for 25 years and has met, interviewed and reviewed many, many famous artists including David Bowie, Guns N’ Roses, The Cure, Paul McCartney, The Grateful Dead, Blur, Oasis, The Clash, Johnny Rotten, Neil Young, Kate Bush, Happy Mondays, Duran Duran, John Martyn, The Rolling Stones etc.

Steve regularly contributes to national newspapers and radio and TV shows. He was most recently seen on the BBC’s series about the history of popular music, The Seven Ages Of Rock. Steve lives with his wife Gill, and three kids – Molly, Syd and Merydith – in Stretton On Fosse, just down the road from the studios. Share on facebook, twitter etc here {sharethis}
