NCCR Appoints Broadway Co-ordinator

North Cotswold Community Radio (NCCR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Wall as the station's co-ordinator for Broadway & surrounding areas. Tony presents the Sunday evening show on NCCR with a unique mix of news, hard hitting opinions, dedications and prayers. His first job, aged just 16, was making the tea and fetching studio guests in the lift for BBC Radio Birmingham at the former Pebble Mill. Whilst enjoying a 20 year career as a financier, he has always kept his hand in with broadcasting, with his most recent spell being at BBC Radio Gloucestershire for what was meant to be a six month stint on the mid morning show. Two and a half years later he finally left and went back into his finance company!

A family man with two teenage boys, he is passionate about life in the Cotswolds and lives just outside Broadway. “When listeners email you and you see phone lines lighting up, it really makes you realise that you are part of something much larger” he says. He also finds it quite phenomenal when an email pops in from a listener in Manchester. “There is obviously something magical about the Cotswolds that appeals to others far away” he says, referring to the station's distant listeners via broadband (www.northcotswoldonline.com) and to its many worldwide ex-pat supporters.

As well as presenting, and being part of the overall management committee, Tony will take personal responsibility for the Broadway area and ensuring that it is represented in the programme making and any particular news stories of interest. He is also keen to encourage local people to become involved in both the production and presentation of local programmes and to contribute to existing output, so if you have something to say or wish to promote your organisation, YOUR NCCR NEEDS YOU . With the station finally moving back into its home in The Cooler, The Old Police Station, Chipping Campden, in the next few weeks after a long period of refurbishment made neccessary after last Summer's floods, NCCR Chairman Robb Eden says "at last we can begin to steam full ahead. Tony has been an invaluable supporter of NCCR since its inception and now he will ensure that another quintessential corner of the North Cotswolds is well represented on NCCR”
